Taylor Swift

She is my girl!!!!!!! I love Taylor. Recently,
I've been looking up her interviews on YouTube and is actually pretty funny too. My favorite song by her is probably stay stay stay, from the red album. I'm already ready for a new album to come out, I just love her so much! It is nice to also have a celebrity who is (so far) innocent, and hasn't gotten caught up in ungodly things. And frankly, I am dying to know whether or not she follows Christ. She has mentioned Him in a couple of her songs, but that doesn't really mean anything. And guess what guys- she loves cats!!! EEEE!!!!!!
Sorry this is such a brief post, I'm currently prewriting some posts and trying to come up with ideas.

Judith's Quest

Hey guys! So for my co-op I had to create a story in mythological times. Here is what I came up with; Enjoy!!

Judith’s Quest
Nearly all inhabitants of Athens, Greece, are familiar with the story of Warfelk saving Judith on her quest to find her uncle, but most are oblivious that Warfelk did not act alone. Judith Ortez, with her long, dark hair, dark eyes, and tall body could be spotted very easily in a crowd. Judith had been orphaned fifteen years ago, at three years of age. Her mother and baby brother had died in childbirth, and her father never returned from fighting the Trojan War with Odysseus. Judith lived with her Uncle Caverlex. They were the only Ortezes left.
Caverlex had gone on a nine day fishing trip. He had to venture out far to try to find walloping fish that would sell. On the day Judith expected his promised return, she waited by the ocean. He didn’t come that day, or the next. Judith started sleeping near the bay, waiting for her beloved uncle. Although the townspeople were convinced that old man Caverlex must be dead, none had the heart to tell Judith.
Three weeks after Caverlex had set off, Judith received a visit from a stranger. Athena had been watching Judith, and felt pity for her since she knew what had happened to Caverlex. Athena came down in the form of an old fisherman to the bay where Judith was waiting. The goddess of wisdom grabbed Judith by the shoulder, startling her.
“Don’t be afraid little lady, for I know what has happened to your uncle,” Judith desperately wanted to believe this old man who added, “His ship was wrecked near Oceanus.”
“But, that is so far away. Why would he have traveled that far?” Judith asked.
“I don’t think he meant to, Miss. He was stuck in a storm”.
Judith glanced away hoping to believe him, turned around, and the fisherman was gone. Judith didn’t know how, but somehow she just knew that this man was telling the truth. She wasted no time. Judith gathered bread, cheese, and plenty of water and canteens for the long journey ahead. Uncle Caverlex had given her a small row boat; although it was small, Judith knew it was her only option.
After rowing for three days, Judith finally sighted shore. She had always been told that the way to Oceanus was to follow the North Star. That counsel proved to be true. As she came close to shore, she noticed a large object. She couldn’t tell if it was a seal or possibly a mermaid. Judith got close enough to realize it was neither. It was a legendary creature, one that no one was even sure existed. It was a mercat, trapped in a fishnet. Judith rowed as fast as her tired arms could, hoping to help it. Although no one was sure the mercat existed, everyone knew that if it did, the mercat’s tail must always be wet or it would die.
She ran over to the mercat, and cut it free. The mercat swam off, without even a glance back. “So much for gratitude,” Judith thought. She called out to the mercat, because she really wanted to meet it. To her surprise, the mercat’s head popped right up out of the water. “What do you want?” the mercat said impatiently.
“Uhh, you can talk?” said a shocked Judith.
“What do you think I’m doing right now?” the mercat snapped back sarcastically.
“I’m trying to find my uncle whose ship was wrecked near here; could you help me?”
“You mean the old man whom Calypso took to her island?” the mercat replied. “Hmm, what is in it for me?”
“I just saved your life.” Judith replied. Reluctantly, the mercat agreed to help Judith. She explained that Calypso’s island was south of their current location.
Judith rowed day and night until reaching an island that the mercat thought to be Calypso’s. Judith tied her boat, and raced to the only building in sight. She was greeted by a beautiful woman, whom she believed to be Calypso.
“Come in, dear, please. What has brought you to my island?” the lady said. Judith was so excited about seeing her uncle Caverlex that she didn’t notice “Calypso” locking the door.
“I have come to see my uncle; I hear that you have him”. This lady was not Calypso, but was an empousa who pretended to many weary travelers that she was Calypso. When they went to sleep in her home, she could drink their blood.
“Oh, yes, dear, your uncle is back here,” the empousa said. As the fake nymph was directing Judith into a room, “Calypso” came out of her disguise to kill Judith.
Meanwhile, the mercat noticed that the fake Calypso had locked the door. Memories came flooding back to when she was a child and her mother warned her about the empousa that posed to be Calypso, the nymph. The mercat, by now attached to Judith, was frantic. She knew she had to save Judith, but she could not leave the water.
Suddenly, the sea cat remembered Warfelk, the half-eagle, half- girl, who lived nearby. She knew Warfelk could save Judith, but she was quite hesitant to ask for Warfelk’s help. The mercat’s family had a longstanding feud with Warfelk’s. Both sides claimed possession of Oceanus. She wrestled inside. The mercat’s newfound love for Judith overcame the hardness in her heart for Warfelk. Swimming as fast as she could to Warfelk’s tree, the mercat was not sure if Warfelk would even help her. Before the mercat reached the tree, Warfelk swooped down dangerously close, and said disgustedly, “What do you want, fish?”
“Do you know who Judith is?” replied the mercat.
“Ya, that girl who wants to find her aunt or something. I do not live under a rock, ya know.”
“Her uncle. And you live in a tree, not much better,” the cat of the sea sneered.
“If you came to tell me something, you might as well get on with it,” Warfelk replied snidely.
The mercat explained everything as quickly as she could. Surprisingly, Warfelk agreed to attempt to save Judith, only because she too, was tenderhearted. She soared over the ocean back to the fake Calypso’s island, while the mercat sped through the water. Spying Judith through the window, Warfelk flung herself through the glass. She grabbed the empousa, threw her on the bed, and immobilized her with her talons. Then, Warfelk threw the empousa into the ocean, to sink to the bottom. Judith threw her arms around Warfelk, who responded, “You should thank the mercat, for it was she who persuaded me to come.”
Surprised, but grateful, Judith went with Warfelk down to the beach and found the mercat praying to Poseidon that all would go well. Judith told her what happened. “I could have saved you, if only I were a full cat,” said the mercat.
“You don’t like being a mercat?” said both Judith and Warfelk in disbelief.
“Not at all, because I can’t go on shore,” replied the mercat, discontented.
Judith did not respond, but resumed her quest for her uncle, accompanied by Warfelk and the mercat. After one day of smooth sailing, they came to the real Calypso’s island. There was Caverlex, on the shore, fishing. Judith ran to him with her arms outstretched and he picked her up. “Judith! How did you get here?”
“My friends helped me find you,” she replied.
Caverlex, awestruck, stared back, but only for a moment. He told them how he had gotten lost. He had swum all the way to Calypso’s island, where she had welcomed him, but would not let him leave. Realizing he now had a chance for freedom, Caverlex asked the gods for help. He gathered Judith and Warfelk into the boat and the mercat swam alongside. Poseidon responded to the prayers of Caverlex by sending waves to carry them on their way with speed.
They arrived back to Athens, where Judith had to say goodbye to her newfound friends. Warfelk flew off right away, as she didn’t like to show too much emotion. The mercat once again complained that if she were a full cat, she would be able to stay with Judith.  Judith reminded her that she couldn’t talk if she were a cat, and would no longer be with her pod of mercats. The mercat hadn’t thought of the positivity of being part mermaid.
“I also wouldn’t be able to swim, at least not as well as I can now,” the mercat added. She gave Judith a goodbye hug and swam off to go meet the rest of her pod.

As for Judith and her uncle, they went back to their town and told everyone about their amazing adventures. As for whether anyone believed them, what do you think?

Heads or Tails

Please, take a moment for THIS:

this:
scrumptious
sweet
delicious
mouth watering
flavorful

cookie. OK, so I've always loved the chocolate oreo and the golden oreo. And then they combined- WHAT?!?!?! So one side is chocolate, and the other is vanilla. You can put the chocolate down and then you taste chocolate, then icing, and then golden. And flip flopped if you put the golden on your tastebuds. I tried this back in July, and they are pretty expensive for this little container, but off brands you can get double the cookies for 50 cents less. I MEAN DO YOU KNOW HOW DELICIOUS THIS IS?!?!?!?!!? YOU CANNOT COMPREHEND IT UNTIL IT IS IN YOUR MOUTH! And no, I do not plan on sharing. Currently, we only have three left:(. I think i may be obsessed....

Just a Rambling

Wow so I just finished reading a lot of my old posts. Gosh I have changed a lot;) I don't know about you but I am tired of the stereotypical saying: you guys have helped become who I am!!!! I know I may get some hate for saying that but I honestly don't understand it.

I love to blog and post and I have definitely changed since I started my blog, but I don't know. I don't feel like it helped me find myself. WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN! Sorry that was just a ramble. I rightly named my blog. I'm trying to be better about posting! Currently I'm prewriting some posts!

Fusion

Hey guys!!!! So last night I went to this thing called fusion. FCA (fellowship of Christian athletes) puts it on once a month. It is for 6-12th graders. I'm in 6th grade so it was my first time going. It is a Christian gathering for like I said middle and high schoolers. It was for three hours. Unspoken, Chris August, and Big Daddy Weave came and played. And then a man spoke about this organization called cute where you donate money so that little kids can have surgeries. It was a lot of fun and I went with one of my best friends Abigail.
Big daddy weave (sorry about the bad quality, zoom on my itouch)

Mercat

In my literature class our teacher had us come up with a mythological creature. I came up with the mercat. Hehe kind of a play on Merecat. Mermaid+cat. Heheheheh. The mercat must always keep its tail wet. It can breathe underwater and above water. Sorry this is such a brief post- which I feel like I've been doing a lot lately. Oh bonus: here is a picture of my adorable nephew playing with a blow dryer

Hair Growth

So as probably NONE of you know- I really want to grow my hair long. I have shoulder length curly hair that likes to get split ends. I take biotin vitamins. DIY hair masks. And anything you can think of- I do. It is growing but not as fast as I would like it to.

So here is a hair mask I did recently. I have many different hair types so basically I mixed together tons of ingredients that are good for your hair. Olive oil: good for strength of hair
Apple cider vinegar: helps with oily hair
Mayonnaise (EEEEEWW) helps with moisture
Avocado: hair growth

DIY hair mask:
Mix 1 table spoon of olive oil with: 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, lots of mayonnaise (I didn't measure how much, just kept scooping till I felt like it was good, this was the main ingredient tho so probably 5-6 spoonfuls) and 2-3 spoonfuls of avocado. I mashed this all together and then got my hair soaking wet. Put this all throughout my hair then put it up in a bun. Then I put a shower cap on and slept in the mask. I laid a towel on my pillow also. Then in the morning I took a shower and I would recommend shampooing your hair twice because the olive oil doesn't like to come out. Within two days my hair literally was longer.

P.s. aren't I attractive in my shower cap!!!
P.p.s. got braces a few weeks ago

Disappointment

I've heard this quote before, but I put it into my own words.
So today will be kind of a different post. First off, thanks SO much for the sweet comments on my last post!!!! Now onto the real post.

Lately I experienced a disappointment. I didn't get something I worked hard for, and wanted greatly. I have not gotten it repeatedly and personally it was easy to be mad/jealous at the person who did. But I cant. I love them. I didn't not get anything. I still got something. Worse could have happened. No one died. In a year I won't remember too much how I felt. But for now I know how I feel. It's getting better. It isn't too big of a deal.

Thanks for letting me ramble- it took a lot off,

I didn't die. I promie

Hey guys! So I did not drop off the face of the earth. I just forgot about my blog/procrastinated posting. What kind of posts would y'all like to see?  Ninja turned two lately. Still an adorable little guy. Jonathan is walking and talking...ish. As for me well, I've been pretty busy. Nothing too exciting has happened lately. And I start my co-op Tuesday. Really excited about that and the only nervousness I have about that is who I will sit by. We have assigned seating for the whole year so I hope I get to sit by my friends. But ya thats about it. I probably have zippo viewers since I haven't posted in forever. But that is ok. I know I will always have you Ms. Denise!!!!!!!!!

Summer/Chaotic/everything!

I hate pictureless posts so here is a random picture of my superstar
Hi guys. I really haven't had a REAL sit down post in a long time. Swim team has started! Starting Wednesday I will have practice from 8-9 every week day. I went to Six Flags for homeschool day, and a homeschool conference with my best friend Makayla. I got an Instagram a couple months ago so follow me @betsychambers . VBS is coming  up in two weeks. Next week I leave for my first REAL camp that is 4 nights, 5 full days. We hike on the Appalachian trail, and go white water rafting, rappelling  canoeing, and all of that kind of stuff. I am going with my other best friend, Abby Sprayberry. My nephew turns 1 year old June 25th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my first ear infection. I am plum tuckered out (yes I know only us people from the south say that). I have started my own business, of making homemade cookies, mother's helper, selling Lenten roses, and pet-sitting  I rode my bike around the neighborhood and distributed 17 fliers, and sold and delivered a dozen of cookies, and have a job for a week of watering plants. I am tired. I finished school for the summer Tuesday. I wish summer was longer. I have a private swimming lesson tomorrow. I am going to my friend's house Thursday. I STILL love cats.

Lady-ughhhhh Bugs

SOOOOOOO as mentioned in this post I am scared of ladybugs.
they are evil! So before you are positive that I'm a freaked out weirdo (which i'm sure you've been considering me being that for A LONG time), let me give you the back story. Once I was about three years old I was helping my dad in the garden, and I still sucked my fingers back then so I started sucking, but apparently there was a ladybug on my finger! Lets just say thankfully 99% of the world (made up number) don't have to know what it feels like to have a ladybug in your esophegous! And yes I know I didn't spell that right. So now me and ladybugs you could say don't really get along well. . . . . .  My friend (Makayla)'s nickname is Ladybug and I love her, but I don't like ladybugs!

Herbst Appliance and Expander

Soooo guys, lets get right to the point. You hear about me in my posts complaining about them probably. These are the devices that are in my mouth. It is exceedingly painful. But, I guess it is for my own good. I'm also getting braces soon. Who knows when. . . . . ..  . . . . My church is having a series called "Forty days of Prayer" and it suggested fasting something that can get in the way of our time with God, and so a lot of my friends fasted chocolate and things like that. My friend told me I should ask my orthodontist if I could fast my Herbst or Expander, ahahhaahahha. It is very time consuming to get food out of it after every meal:):):):)

Everyone at the rink. Left to right: Abigail, Abby, Sami, Makayla, ME, and then Hannah on top of Vanessa:)

Well tada! From my parents I got some books, some clothes, and another piece to my suitcase set. My mom took me shopping at the mall on my birthday and I GOT SOOOO MUCH CLOTHES! A post will be coming soon with all of those clothes:)

Thanks for letting me ramble-
Betsy
